Hello all, At my company we just recently recovered a laptop sotting around in one of our labs collecting dust. Pretty decent one seems to be an HP P3 computer. However we have one problem, there is a power on password. I have attempted to take the thing apart, remove battery let it sit overnight, nothing seems to work. Any suggestions of what i can do (aside replace motherboard) to recover or bypass the password?

try and find a BIOS update utility, and see if you can flash the BIOS. if you can it should reset the password
also, the motherboard may have another inbuilt battery. you might be able to physically take the BIOS chip out and leave it for a while, or try and find the battery then cut the curcuit. then solder it back in
