Default This looks ODD...?

ok i just recieved the SOYO SY-p4i865pe pluse Dragon 2 from newegg(i only got it cause it was free)

its socket 478

i was looking in it's book and it shows a memory frequency table.
it says...
---------................--------------------------
cpu fsb..................supported DDR ran
400..........................266(pc2100)
533..........................266 or 333(pc2700)
800..........................320*(2700) or 400(pc3200)
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
my question is... does the supported DDR for intel socket 478 apply to that table(like its CPU fsb is calculated differently from AMD cpu's??)

or does the supported ram for 478 differ between mother bourds?
---------------------------------------------
b4 i saw this, i though for socket 478, 400cpu could support 400(pc3200, 533 could support pc4200, and 800 could support RD-pc800. ???

the RAM you can use depends mainly on the motherboard: socket 478 motherboards usually support DDR400, sometimes higher, but only the socket 775 boards currently support DDR2

The chart is merely a best performance comparison chart. It's just showing that those types of memory are the types you should use with each of the processor FSB speeds stated with this board.

DDR stands for Dual Data Rate. for every clock pulse, 2 bits of data will be processed, 1 on the up clock and 1 on the down clock. Therefore, DDR400 = 800 FSB.
PC3200 = 3200 Mbits processed per second. Divide by 8 for bytes and you have 400 MB/sec x 2 for dual data rate
