Default Log on Password Lost

I'm not sure if this is proper to ask I hope I don't get in trouble for this so I apologize to the Admins to this site if its wrong for me to ask.

My friend's brother bought a hp laptop from his friend and they did not wipe or give him the password to the laptop. I suggested re-install but guess what happened they did not give him the discs either, I told him to try the "ctrl" and "alt" delete twice and put in Administrator and a blank password but again that won't let him in.

Once again if this is wrong I apolgize and I ask for your forgiveness, If there is anyone that can help please respond and thank you if not it's okay I'll keep searching thank for your time in reading this.

The easiest thing to do is ask the friends for the admin pass.

What OS are we talking about?

Do you have a sticker on the case with the code for installation? You can always borrow a disk from a friend using the code from the case. Of course the disk will have to match the OS type from the sticker.
ASUS P6T Deluxe V2 :: INTEL i7 920 @3.4 :: XFX GTX260 :: 6gb Corsair 1600 :: Corsair 750TX :: TRUE 120 :: Samsung T240 24" :: Windows 7 X64

I do not accept support questions via PM
