Default Linux hardware

I plan on building my next PC but I want Linux instead of Windows. I checked the HCL for Linux but some flavors don't have them. Is it best to get generic hardware so Linux can find it or go with name brands like GeForce and Sound Blaster?

Thanks.

Im pretty sure they all do. You just need DVD-R software to burn with it.
