can i try linux for free some where? i know this should be in another thread but i have to know asap.

Try http://www.linuxiso.org/ you will need something like nero to burn the ISO file(s).

pick a flavor, they are almost all free, most come with lots and lots of free software

Try a live CD version first, its easier, try knoppix.No need to jump right in and then find out you dont like it.

Yea knoppix live cd is great but you might need to change BIOS settings, change the boot order so your cd drive boots before the hard drive.

they prob have some answers on where to dl, and what distro to get.....

fedora 3 is free....i used it the other day...not bad...not my cup of tea though.
