Default LCD res. not stretching! ! how to fix?

alright here's the deal.

I have a Dell inspiron XPS, and i play games. Everytime i wanted to play ANY game, excpet lord of the rings battle for middle earth and Halflife 2, the game would start in a small screen in the middle of my monitor. I have a ATI mobility 9700, and the only way to fix this is to hook up another monitor.

i have searched online for days, things like ALT- ENTER or whatever don't work....

Also, it seems that when i boot up a game that it changes reolutions several times ( i see some flashy re-arrangeing of my desktop)

Anybody know what the heck is goin on?

On the Function keys,t here should be words in blue. One of them should say "Font" hold the function key and hit this. If nothing happens, hit it again. It toggles your scaler. On my Inspiron, it sometimes fails to change it on the first try, but that is certainly the key you are looking for.
AGP won\'t fit in PCI-E... unless you use a really good hammer. ~Trotter
