Does it matter what your refresh rate is set to when you use an lcd monitor?

Yes, it does.

LCDs do not have to be set to high refresh rates like a CRT monitor. If you set an LCD to a high refresh rate, you actually degrade the omage quality.

Set your monitor's refresh rate at 60 and you're good. That's the setting recommended by LCD manufacturers.

Oh well.

When I bought mine, I had it set to 85. When I lower it, it really looked great.

I have never seen an improved image quality from 75 to 60, just lowers you fps cap. Although it does apply to anything higher then that IMO. I've seen a LCD running 800 * 600 at 100 and it looked slightly better at 75.

I would stick with 75 as for me that is the perfect LCD refresh rate.
