Default laptop widescreen for gaming

I bought a laptop recently and I was wondering how to change my settings so that all games run in a full(widescreen) view. Everything else is widescreen such as the desktop but games are not.

2 x 2GB CORSAIR DOMINATOR 240-Pin DDR3 1600mhz
G.Skill Sniper SSD 60gb x2 RAID 0
BFG Tech GS-550 550W ATX12V V2.2 / EPS12V V2.8 SLI PSU

I found mine in the games setting since i game on widescreen, so thats where they should be
