Default Laptop question

Hey... I'm thinkin of buying a laptop, but I have a question before I do. I read somewhere that a mobiel 1.6 GHz Pentium 4M processor has about the same power as a normal 2.8 GHz Pentium 4 processor. Is this true, 'cause this could potentially save me a lot of money.

Also, do any of you know of a good laptop I can get for a fair price? I'm goin to college next year and I'ma be a computer science major, so i need a good laptop.

A Pentium-4M does not have same power as a 2.8 GHz desktop P4 but a Pentium-M is comparable to a 2.8GHz P4.

It uses less power and is much more efficient like an AMD CPU
