Default Laptop Processor

I'll be getting a laptop soon -

However, I cannot decide whether to get AMD Athlon or Intel - My future laptop will have around 1gig of ram, 80GB hard drive, and a decent video card. I've heard AMD is great for gaming, for PCs though, but does that hold up to laptops too? Please let me know

Also, are HP laptops good? I know IBM and Apple have great laptops, but I'm on a strict budget. So my top competitors for laptops are Toshiba/Dell/HP (not in that order)

Get the Toshiba. (If those are your only 3 choices) They are affordable and durable.

What about HP? I haven't found anything with Toshiba that I like?

From what people have to me, HP is good. Their Turion notebooks look sweet.

My sister just got a Compaq laptop with the AMD Turion. It's widescreen, very nice. Don't quite remember the specs of it, but it was about $800-$900.
