Default Laptop drivers?

I've aquired a laptop from work. i want to reinstall windows 2000 on the unit. It already has Windows 2K on it but the log in is password protected. The laptop did not come with ANY software or disks.

My question is: Will i need to find/download drivers for this thing? or should i wait untill i can contact the person who had it before me? (He has retired and moved on. It's going to be quite a task to contact him)

1.) reinstall the OS//reformat
2.) to find the drivers, just go to the mobo's site (mobo model can be found with [cpu-z])

I don\'t play for fun, I play to win and winning is fun.
