Default Laptop decision

I am trying to determine which laptop to get.

I only need it for some simple browsing and dvd/cd burning.

Someone is trying to sell me an older Sony Vaio R505EC for $600 the dvd rom does not work but he is offering an external dvd rw.

I am also loking at this laptop:

Any suggestions?

Thank you

If I had to choose between those, I would get the second one.

The first one only has a PIII at 1.2GHz..:|

Intel Q9400 | Gigabyte EP45-UD3P | G.Skill 2x2GB DDR2 1000 | XFX HD5870

Need website help? PM me!
