Default Laptop

hey guys, im planning on getting a new laptop in the near future.
budget less than $2000. i want to get a laptop on new egg but i dont know anything about laptops seeing that ive used desktops all my life.
are laptops upgradable? like the hardware and stuff. and can i do it myself?
which brands are good?
what are the differences between the processors?
anthing else i should know?

Yes, they are upgradeable, and what do you want to do with it? I always recommend the iBook and Powerbooks whenever I can

Toshiba are good laptops. Some parts of a laptop are upgradable. I don't think the motherboard is, but the hard drive and RAM are.
