I'm buying a laptop (for school, and gaming of course!).

Now, I was interested in this ABS laptop:
http://www2.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16834224016

Specs:
Windows XP Pro (I like that!)
1MB CPU Cache
AMD 64 3400+
Chipset: SIS 755+SIS SB 963L
15.4" WXGA max res 1280x800
Radeon 9700, 128MB
100GB 5400 RPM HDD
2x So-DIMM DDR400 1 GIG RAM
DVD-RW Dual
3 USB, 1 IEEE1394, 1 VGA, 1 LPT, 1 SVIDEo
3 in 1 card reader
3D Audio AC'97 v2.3
7.7LBS
$1600
I read the downfall to ABS laptops:
They get extremely hot, and in some cases the Radeon 9700 takes a crap in them.

I found this Compaq Presario R4025US:
http://www.compusa.com/products/product_info.asp?product_code=319120&pfp=BROWSE
And
http://www.pcmall.com/pcmall/shop/detail~dpno~534964.asp

This has:
80 GB HDD (probably 5400)
1 GIG DDR SDRAm
15.4, 1024x768
XP Home w/SP2
7.85LBS
ATI Radeon Xpress 200M IGP

Now I've had a compaq before, and I can say they do the job. What I have never had is a Radeon xPress 200M.

Is this video card better then 9700? Is this laptop overall BETTER for gaming then the ABS laptop?

I think IGP means that it's built into the laptop, if it is then it probably has shared memory which sucks. Enlighten me!

The games I plan on playing are: Battlefield Vietnam (1942, and maybe BF2), Brother in Arms, Half Life 2 (and the MODS), and any other modern game that is decent. I want to maintain a 30+FPS If possible.

If anyone could help me out, or direct me in the right direction for a good laptop, I'll apperciate it :)

Get the one with the 9700 pro, the compaq wont really handle hames

I'm kinda thinking that too. The X200 or whatever doesn't sound good. I might stick with the ABS especially because of the Windows Pro :)
