I got a iPod off a friend who doesn't want it anymore...but the only problem is that his music is on it....is there any way to erase it all?

yes... did he give u the firewire/usb cable and ervything with the software to install on ur computer?

yep Firewire cable and then the install cd for iPod cd that installed iTunes and stuff on it

ok, so connect it to ur computer.. open up the ipod software or w.e. it is (i dont have an ipod so i dont know), and from then on i think its like common sense.

or plug it into a computer with no music in itunes or whatever music u have in itunes and itll say something along the lines of would u like to update your ipod to this computer or something and if u click yes itll delete all the old songs and put in ur new songs from itunes

There is a way to reformat it, just look at the manual on the website...I think it's at www.apple.com/ipod/manual or something like that...
