I just need some suggestions if it is possible to interchange HD (with OS) to different CPU/MBoard Computer units?
Without goin' much on my computer's details at this time, is there anything I need to do in order to phisically take my HD and use it as the primary disk on another computer (not as a slave)? without formatting my HD.
I want to do an upgrade without going through all the hassles of formatting and installing all softwares and downloading all the service packs that I have done in the past. I tried installing it to my friend's computer (newer and higher specs) but it seems its not as straight forward as I thought. My system just did not boot. I did not proceed any further as I dont't want to screw up my HD. When i placed it back to my computer, I needed to click on 'last good working configuration' before my system started working again.
OS I am using in my HD is XP pro w/ SP2 with all updates this April. Of course the hardware of my friend is totally different from my own.
Any help will be highly appreciated.
