My computer is an older model given to me by a friend, it runs WIN98. It does not have external USB ports, but the motherboard does have built in connectors so I would only need to purchase and install adapters, though I think I could also purchase a USB card.
I've heard that with the installation of new hardware I would need my O/S installation CD. Would I need said CD if I installed a USB card? Is there any way around it? (I do not have a installation CD).
What if I got a USB adapter instead of a card? Would I still need the WIN98 installation CD?
Thank you.
