Default Installing a DVD burner

I bought a dvd today and i am wondering if there is any special place to put it rather than just putting it on the next avilable IDE connector

Installing a DVD burner is just like a Cd Drive or CD Burner.

Yup, the major difference (Besides readind DVD's) is the software used to burn/rip/encode/decode data.
