I need help installing a third HDD, I have a maxtor something or other 4gig primary, a maxtor 20 gig slave, (they work perfect toghether, and never had problems) how do I set the jumpers when I connect a third 20 gig to the pc, would doing this affect my pc adverselly, and should I just get one huge slave instead of several small ones?..?
My pc is as follows:
1ghz amd athlon
256 ram
win xp pro
nvidia gforce4 64 mb

if you need more info, please ask.....

ur prolly gonna connect the 3rd HD to the IDE with the CD-Rom device i assume. Just make sure that one of those is set to master. i have my DVD-Rom set to slave and my HD set to master.

if you dont have the jumper settings written on the HDD itself, best to check the manufactuers site as some hdds have weird jumper settings (ex: IBM HDDs). I would put that HDD as the master or slave of the IDE2 chain.
