Default Install question

When it comes to hardware that requires drivers, is it best to install the drivers before you put in the hardware into a PC?

Varies from hardware to hardware, but usually you install the hardware first.

Laptop i7-3740QM @ 2.7GHz, 2x4GB 1600Mhz, GT640M, OCZ Agility 3 120GB
Smartphone HTC One M8 - Sense 7 - 6.0

As Yamikotai said, usually hardware first. And technically, almost all hardware needs drivers, except Windows installs many of them for you when you install the Windows OS - drivers for major vendors and many others as well. Obviously others have to be added when you install the after market hardware.
