do you have another stick of memory you can test in another slot? BTW, if it's a dual chanel mobo, and u fried slot 1 for example, dont use slots 1 &3, try 2&4 instead.

Anyways, I believe the motherboard will work, try different slots first, hopefully your motherboard is not picky on what slots you fill.

My motherboard has 4 memory slots--the first two are for DDR sticks, second two or for SDR memory. The first is the one that got fried.

Everything else is okay, including number two. Unfortunately, I don't have a stick on my at the moment, but I'll just buy another stick and use slot two instead (for DDR memory).

Hopefully that'll have been the worst of it.
