Illegal Files on computer

Alright, i was surfing porn last night and i came accross a VERY illegal website, i reported it to cybertip.ca and an american based site, but regardless i want to get rid of the files.

Will replacing my hard-drive (which i need to do anyway) get rid of the files completely or can they be found elsewhere on my comp too?

Thanks

well thats what happens when you surf around porn, porn will damage your computer because it WILL contain viruses, spyware, adware, etc.

I would recommend doing scans on every online virus scanner, download ad-aware, spybot, any spyware program to fix your pc.

ummm....once your hdd is gone, they cant be anywhere else.......and what was intalled?

How many posts do you need to make on this same topic.

Regardless of formatting of a HDD, data can still be recovered by Digital Forensic Scientists. You would have to remove the HDD from the system and open up the HDD casing and completely destroy the platters... Crush them up in a million pieces and sprinkle the fragments all over the earth in 1000 differnet locations.

Or, you can stop downloading kiddy porn.

1. use Firefox

2. delete temporary internet files

they're in C:\documents and settings\your user name\local settings\temporary internet files\content.ie5

note 1: you'll have to log into another user name to delete the index.dat file, which stores URL's and autocomplete entries

note 2: local settings and content.ie5 folders are hidden even when "show hidden files" is on, so type in the address.

also, if you want them to not be hidden, delete what's in the desktop.ini files except for the top line

3. scan thoroughly with antivirus and anti-spyware programs

LOL! Instead of all of the above^, go to your local hardware store, purchase a decent quality hammer and have a go at your harddrive while enjoying a nice copy of Swank or the likes! You might find it oddly fulfilling. Also, a magazine won't give you spyware and virus'!

You said your hdd needed replacing anyways right?

Sounds like you need your lover replaced too!
(Sorry, I couldn't resist)

:p

If u reported the site.
deleted history, (asuming you dident downlod 10 gig of the **** on ur hd)
ur free. if cops shud knok on the door.
u just say taht u stumbeled a site who u reported.

then when theu go trough your pc the will se if u frekvently download ****. Or just stumbeled over a site.

So if u down ****... ur screwd...

if u just stumbeled over a site like u said. Do nothing.
They cane see the different on downing in large scale or stumbeling over ****..
