Default IDE vs SATA II

Hey,

I am wanting to purchase a new external HDD... i have no room left in my case but im gonna get a caddy and run it through USB2... would there be any advantage in getting a SATA II caddy and HDD over simply getting an IDE caddy and HDD, if i'm just going to be running them through usb2 anyway?

thanks heaps!

Carey

SATA II, is not that much faster than IDE. The difference is not really noticeable.
