Default IDE and SATA?

hey sorry guys, but i never knew the difference between IDE HD
and SATA HD?

IDE uses parelell to send stuff and has a limited speed of 133MBPS and uses huge cables.

Sata is up to 150MBPS right now and uses a small 7 pin cable and sends stuff the serial way.
