Default IBM Thinkbads, are they all that great?

What's so great about IBM thinkpads? I am planning on buying my first notebook this week and was checking out some different brands. My price range is <$1000. Any ideas?

lol under 1000 bucks. Why IBM? Screw them. You know that they made knives before they made PCs?

Ricer: from the latin word Ricarius meaning to suck at everything you attempt.

Yes they are the best,IBM makes corporate class the T series.everybody else makes consumer grade................

I have bought 5 myself.I use the T22 in my sig as my main computer.
Wifey uses the crappy Dell and winbook. The only time I mess with them is when they are F.........ed up.

Dont take my word for it;but, dont the word of people who dont use laptops either

Go to www.thinkpads. com and talk to hundreds of people who also use their Thinkpads as their primary at home and Depend on them to make their Living.

That is the bottom line;People who depend on their laptop for their lively hood choose Thinkpad. Gee I wonder Why.

IBM laptops have some advanced circuitry that detects if its falling and stops the hard drives etc. I hear they are very sturdily made
Core 2 Duo E6400, DFI Infinity 975X/G, 2x 512mb DDR2 667mhz, Albatron 7900gt, WD 200gb SATA, Samsung DVD-RW, Silverstone ST-50EF 500w PSU.
