Go into bios, put cd rom as first boot, save and exit, put in the xp cd, and it would boot from there. Then it is pretty much click next.

Looking at that system though, I have had alot of trouble trying to get xp working on a older system, more than it is worth tbh, as I couldn't stand the speed of it, but you have a good bit of ram to help it.

If that doesn't work than, Get a 98 boot up disk, (hopefully it would already have A as first boot) type in, with windows 98:
D:
cd win98
i386

Take out the 98 disk, put in XP
D:
winnt

You can also try this link GiZmo.

http://www.michaelstevenstech.com/cleanxpinstall.html

The small blue jpegs to the left are the screenshots during
setup, look at them if you need to.

Look at the menu to the left if you need additional information.

You will also want a tutorial on the XP services so you can disable
the ones you wont need and keep XP running smoothly.

www.blackviper.com has a clear and concise tutorial for setting up
XP and the needed/unneeded services but his site is I hope only
temporarily under construction.

GiZmo, ignore the blackviper link, I think the original is gone for
good. Thats a shame because he had some good info on his site.
