to tranfer data or clone a partition to the sata disk is no different than with a IDE disk. copy data from disk to disk using the operating system or use ghost to clone a partition or disk. volumes are setup using the same methods: partition, format, install OS.
for windows to recognize a SATA disk you have to install the RAID drivers during windows 2000/XP installation (by pressing F6 during beginning setup initialization, must have drivers on a floppy) or add the drivers with add/ remove hardware in the control panel
