Hyper-transport

I have a question about hyper transport speed. If i get a processor that can hyper transport at 2000 Mhz, is this because of dual core? Do i need a motherboard that supports hyper transport at 2000 mhz to get the full speed of the cpu? Most of the motherboard i am looking at ( 70-100 dollars) only say they hyper transport at 1000 mhz. Will this make a difference? Thanks in advance for any help.

1000MHZ = actual and as Athlon is DDR, so it makes 1000MHz x 2 = 2000MHz

understood? whatever you are buying, telling its 1000MHz is actually 2000. Go for it!
