Default Hyper Threading feature of P4 processor

Hi everybody,
I work for HP-GDIC, Bangalore, India.
I'm undergoing hardware training.
My trainer has asked me to give a presentation on the "Hyper Threading" feature of the P4 processor. Could anybody give an entire overview on this feature please?
Thanking you.

one thing I'd like to point out:
Hyperthreading does give greater CPU power, but applications not optimised for dual CPU's will not benefit from it. in some cases, it actually slows them down.
