We've basically all heard of the TLB bug present in Phenom processors.
But, how many people have actually had the bug cause any problems?
well, a member called Schakal
at a portugese forum
has set out to systematically hunt down for the TLB bug.
A translation is available at the xtremesystems forum
Basically, he found that the only
time he ever came across the TLB bug, was in VMware, with Cool'n'Quiet enabled, and with all four cores at 100% load, and 4 virtual programs.
Running one OS, the bug never occurred. Ever. Even with the same 4 programs.
After disabling Cool'n'Quiet, the TLB bug also never occurred. Even with VMware, and all cores maxed out, and the same 4 programs.
You will also find many people with Phenom processors, who report no issues with the TLB bug.
For example, a user called AMDDeathstar at XS:
