HP Pavilion ZT-1192 LCD problem...Help Required!

hi all,

I have an HP Pavilion ZT-1192 laptop. The picture on the screen is really dark and you can barely see what you are doing. If you connect an external monitor its ok on that.

It started by the LCD screen like going off, and to get it to come back on, you had to press the sensor (which detects if the screen is folded down) for a second and then the screen came back ok. It gradually got worse and now is dark all the time

Has any1 got any idea what the problem could be?

Im thinking the backlight may have gone but im looking for a second opinion

Located a backlight supplier

All,

I finally located a backlight supplier! Took a bit of time but got it at a very reasonable price.

Will let you's know if this fixes the problem

dark screen/backlight?

Hi there,

I'm having dark screen problems, sounds similar to one you posted about. My laptop is Compaq Presario R3000 (I think HP owns Compaq nowadays).

Just wondering how your backlight issue worked out. Problem fixed? How much did it cost? Did you do the replacement yourself, and if so how big a job was it?

Thank, I'd appreciate any insight you might have.

PS Can you tell me where you found the replacement part?
