The 6800 would be a lot better than the 9800 but then again it depends on what you are going to do with your pc.
 
well, 9800 = 256mb GDDR2

6800 = 128mb DDR

i play flight sims, battlefield vietnam (and other first person shooters)

if i buy it now, i want it to last aboud 2-3 years
 
better graphic detail when playing a game that supports 256. notice that i said supports it. that means the new games like hl 2. it also seems logical that you would have to have a good cpu to run it to, maybe not though.
 
it will work, just it won't work at 256mb, it'll work at what ever the highest seting speed it was intended to be. make sense? if not i'll explain in better detail, i don't mind.
 
no i understand . . .

its just that i still have (and enjoy) games from 2000, 2001
