Default how much would a hard drive help me??

ok i got a 3 year old samsung 80g 5400 rpm hard drive with a 2m cache would my game performance increase alot if i installed a 7200rpm 8mb cache 80g hard drive....i think this hard drives messed up anyway sometimes when i boot my pc up it says disk boot fail error......

For gaming, there will not be a difference apart from load times, because the game will not access the hard drive during the game.

As for general performance there will definitely be a difference, mainly due to the RPM difference.

yes it would but i don't think by much but I would buy it any ways because if it's saying boot disk error that drive is going and I would replace it.

It will help enormously. I just went from a 7200 RPM drive to a 5200 RPM drive.... and its killing me. I'm not even attempting to load any games newer then Half Life.
