Default how much faster???

how much faster is a sata hard drive then an IDE hard drive
say... 80gb SATA 7200rpm Vs. 80gb IDE 7200rpm
is there a big performance differnce?
building a budget gaming system wanted to know if it was a big differnce or not thnx alot.

Actually, there isn't that big of performance difference between ATA-133 and 7200rpm SATA. Especially considering Windows XP isn't yet even using the full capacity of ATA-133. Where you really pick up speed is when you up it ti 10,000 rpm SATA.

Yeah, ATA-133 is the latest version of standard IDE.
