How to make a Custom External USB Enclosure

Does anybody know who to make a custom USB enclosure? I found one on Aero Cooler's website but Its kinda expensive and I was wondering if someone knew how to make them from scratch or knew of a website that showed how. I saw those earlyier but what I wanted to really do is a custom mounting plate for my desk were I can hook-up my cd roms, Floppy and backup internal enclosure. I wanted to find a way to hook them up to a usb device that will go behind my desk into my computer. I have a lot of extra cd roms and floppys from other computers and was planning to use those. see attached image for my crazy idea.

Yeah just pick up a few cheap enclosures, rip out the IDE Controller (yeah yeah, it's really a HOST)

Make your own nice little pelxiglas, metal or wood case.
