For gaming purposes i need to get my modem on an irq all by its self. Currently on irq #5 i have my modem and ACPI IRQ HOLDER FOR PCI IRQ STEERING ALSO ON IRQ #5 . How can i get my modem on a seperate Irq???
Thanks for your time

A couple of things come to mind.
1) Disable one of your serial ports in CMOS setup, then manually assign it to the modem in the peripheral setup section of CMOS. This may be tricky, and I've never done it, but I think it would work.
2) Get an external modem and hook it up to your serial port.
Less work, more money.
3) If your computer has no serial ports, I guess my answers are totally worthless, and I am sorry to have wasted your time.:)

First you need to state what your OS is and what kind of PC you have. Is it a proprietary brand or is it home built?

ok sry im running windows 98se, system specs
amd 700 cpu
Biostar motherboard w/ via apollo kx 133 chipset
640 mb sdram
i do believe it was home built although i bought it used all together asis
