How to connect LCD monitor to computer with no port?

Hello again. I want to get rid of my old clumpy Time monitor and use a Packard Bell LCD monitor (that came with my Dad's, now broken, computer). On the back of my computer, as well as the usual monitor port there is an LCD monitor port. However it doesn't connect to the cable attached to the Packard Bell monitor (which can't be disattached).
My question is: are there any monitor adapters out there for this sort of thing?

The only ports I can see on the PB monitor are two USB ports. However I've never heard of a monitor being operated by attaching a USB cable between itself and a computer. Would I be right in thinking that?

I'm pretty sure your LCD has a DVI connection type, just get an adaptor (DVI-A to VGA).

Thanks The51 but I checked the picture and it doesn't seem to match the port on the back of the broken Packard Bell (or the cable on the monitor). Out of interest what do you think the USB ports on the monitor are for?

Some monitors come with integrated USB hubs, allowing usb devices to be connected via the monitor.

Sounds like a good thing, but does it work very well?I have seen several monitors with this.

Seems worth a try. Does anyone know where I could get a adapter for this monitor? Having looked at the cable I'm not sure whether the one suggested will work.

Hello,

It's most likely going to be either a VGA or DVI connection.

Any chance you could take a picture of the connector and post it here?
