so my EVEREST temps are the following:
CPU: 34c
GPU:57c
GPU Ambient: 43c
HDD:42c

anything over 45c seems hot to me... so seems liek the graphics card is burning up... am i mistaken?

system specs:
6600GT evga
3500+ Newcastle
1GB Kingston
160 SATA WD
Gigabyte GA-K8NF-9 n4

Is that you GPU at idle? Are you in the USA. I would say thats a pretty hot GPU. Im in the UK so mine idles lower than most as the weather is cooler. Mines usually around 43 in the summer months.

Buy some cheap case fans and a fan contoller ;)

iono if thats idle, it was prolly 3 minutes after playing battlefront
ill check it now though, (surfing web and chatting IM) and its :56c

i live in US, Southern Arizona

is a GPU that hot goinnd break?

psht, that's not hot for a GPU dude...they get way hotter than CPUs ever would.

It would be fine if it was idling up at 60C

BTW, GPU's cool down 10C within half a second of you stopping game play, so by the time you get to your monitor it's not even close to what the temp was....Rivatuner shows a line graph of your temperatures over a course of time so you can see what it hit.

80-85C full load is common for graphic cards with stock cooling.

My 6600GT would idle at like 65C, and I think my 6800GT did the same if not 70C, both ended up at 85C full load...even with water cooling my GPU idles at around 48C...granted it's overclocked, but even when it wasn't it wasn't much cooler.

Hygors was hitting around 100C on his gigabyte card =/

the thermal threshold for those cards is like 145C, of course I'd never let it get anywhere near that though
