Exclamation HL2 to look even better!?!

http://www.planethalflife.com/

Scroll down a little and it'll have the article about it. They will be implenting a new rendering feature called "HDR" or "High-Dynamic Range lighting" to make an already freakishly awesome looking game, look even better.....will be rather amazing. They will be using it and releasing a couple new levels.

Some other news about it via g4 website

I'm hoping they make it a free addition for any existing HL2 owners. Looks interesting, I hope they are able to incorporate the storyline into it somehow rather than simply making it a bland addition with pumped up graphics.

It'd be interesting to see the system requirements it'd need though.

Yeah, if they get this lighting added, HL2 will once and for all be superior to Doom 3.

HL2 looks more like an actual depiction of real life to me. Doom3 in all of it's goodness still looks somewhat cartoonish. Although it is indeed freakin awesome, you can't beat the vast room to move around and freedom of HL2 while still looking awesome.....plus it's cool to shoot birds out of the sky
