Are hitachi HDD's any good?

i can get an 80-120 gb one for a good price, so i want to know if there any good or are they always going wrong etc?

my dad's Dell (Laptop) had a 20GB Hitachi, it lasted about 2 years and died

personally, I'd get a Seagate. if not, then Western Digital.

I've heard good things about Hitachi's. No first hand experience though.

read on newegg , i suggest youll avoid em and go with seagate/samsung/western digital

I own an 80GB Hitachi Deskstar. Runs fine so far, but it is only 1 year old (at least that is when I bought it).
