HD means high definition, and since the monitor can produce that high definition, there won't be HD. You need a HD-resolution monitor to view HD imagery.

My computer uses 1.5A-load, .8A-idle, .65A-standby, .05A-turned off on 125V.

Correct. It'd be like trying to watch HD TV channels on an old CRT TV, it just won't work, as the TV would have to have an HD tuner in it, the same would go for a computer. The monitor has to have an HD tuner in it to be able to have HD compliance.
