Default Help Weird Beeps During Startsup!

ok i just took apart my old pc to clean it a bit. i hooked up and when i pressed the power button all the computer does is beep 3 times and nothing appears on the screen. the pc is a nec ready 9905.its running windows 98, 64 megs ram, 8 gig fujitsu hardrive, pii 350mhz.

reseat everything and test one at a time (start with mem and vid card). you didn't use dishwashing detergent again, now did you? j/k, anyhow, hopefully you know to ground yourself, etc.

If reseating the video card/memory doesnt help go to your mother boards website and look for BIOS beep codes it will let you know exactly what is wrong.

I think 3 beeps is your video. Make sure your video card is in the port.

yea it was my video card, wasnt fully pushed in

Yeah, and for future reference 1 long, 2 short beeps is video card. Repeated, nonstop beeps usually means memory.
