Help Using My webcam as a security camera

Hi everyone i was just wondering if anyone copuld help me finding a program that would allow me to connect to my webcam from another computer. For example I want to be able to be at work and see what is happening at my house from there. I heard somewhere you can do this but cant remember where. Any help on recommended programs and setting it up would be useful. Especially security wise i dont want other people been able to control my webcam
