Help Please on "Video Capture Devices"

Hello everyone.

I am relatively new here. I would like to bring up a problem I have encountered: I am trying to run a chat program written in Java, that also has a netmeeting option. However, everytime I attempt to run it, I receive a message saying "No Video Capture Device" and consequently the slot allocating to showing your live pictures appears empty. Although I have a web-cam installed in my computer, do I still need something else as "Video Capture Device"?

I'm typically not good with Java but I would recommend that you unplug your webcam and uninstall all drivers and software and then try again. That might help.

Thanks for the comment. Excuse my ignorance but is a Webcam counted as a "video capture device"?
