FYI, dell doesnt MAKE monitors. They are just rebadges. We have HP 30" monitors here at work. Well the boss and the web designer do. They are pretty nice. I just cant see shelling out 1400 bucks for a monitor that will be even harder on my poor underpowered rig :p

That is right Veedub. Dell, HP nor gateway make the actual monitors.

Laf i use a Samsung 930BF 19" normal aspect LCD and i love it. I am waiting till either Fathers day or my BDay to get myslef a nice Samsung Widescreen LCD. Love them.

What about this for a computer monitor?

What Video card should I get 9800 GTX or 9800 GX2

I dont see Contrast Ratio anywhere. For somethign like that it should be pretty dang high.

I would go with the 9800 GX2 as that has 2 GPU's on it compared to the 9800GTX.

its a good thing contrast ratio is basicly how many different shades of a colour a screen can produce. The higher the ratio the better.

As Saxon said it is good. Having a bad contrast ratio will tell you if the LCD would have a bad grey to grey scale and produce ghosting or other articfacts on screen.

What Contrast Ratio should I shoot for for 37-40 in screen?
What Resolution should I get for 32-40 in screen?
If anyone out there can recommend brand model HD tv for my computer it would be greatly appreciated.
Price: 1500 max

BTW thanks for your time and answering my question this board rocks.
