Help with Hard Drive

Hey,

Just bought an 80 gb Seagate ATA internal hd from bestbuy for $50 after rebate. Before I open it, I need to know whether it will be compatible with my hardware. Is there any way I can tell whether I support ATA without opening the darn case?

Is it a serial or a parallel? If it's parallel then your pc will support it. PATA is just another way of saying IDE or EIDE. Now if it's a SATA and you dont have any SATA controllers on your board, you're gonna have to buy PCI SATA controller card. Hope this helps.
