Help! DDR speeds changing on bootup

Sup,

When I boot up and get to the post screen, near the top left is my DDR speed. Sometimes it changes by itself, and I just restarted three times, and it went from DDR333, to DDR266, then back to DDR400 (the correct speed).

I looked through BIOS thoroughly, and found nothing on memory speed/control management. What could be causing this? I havn't noticed any defects in my RAM or its performance, so i'm guessing its most likely the way the motherboard is detecting it.

I am using a geil 2x512mb dual channel kit. Rated at DDR400

Anyone got a solution or explaination as to why this is happening?

does it say the same in cpuz? http://www.cpuid.com/cpuz.php

run memtest to see if there is anything wrong with the ram. http://www.memtest86.com/ It has to be put onto a bootable floppy, and run at startup (before entering windows.)

If that doesn't find any problems, than It could be the motherboard/bios playing up. What motherboard do you have?
