Default Help with a build Please....

Hello, I've decided to build my own PC so I know I have some good components... Here is a list: (prices are from a local shop here in canada, so only sites with quite a bit lower prices would be worth mentioning, due to shipping, our crap dollar, ect.)

AMD based System: $1100

($190) AMD 64 3000+ CPU
($250) ASUS A8N-SLI Deluxe MoBo
($200) 2GB KINGSTON DDR PC3200 184 PIN 2x1024MB 400MHZ
($460) (2) ASUS NVIDIA EN6600 PCX-6600 PCI-E 16x 256MB DDR (SLI setup)

Intel Based System: $1110
($240) Intel 530 LGA775 CPU
($315) 2GB KINGSTON DDR2 PC2-4200 2x1024MB 240 PIN
($230) ASUS NVIDIA EN6600 PCX-6600 PCI-E 16x 256MB DDR

Common Components: $385

($150) ANTEC SX1040BII ATX Case 400W BLACK
($120) ASUS DRW-1604P BLACK 16X (+)(-) DVD RW
($15) PANASONIC 3.5 Floppy Drive 1.44MB BLACK

TOTAL: $1500 (CDN)
Any thoughts which would be the better way to go? I mainly need the power for games, but I decode/burn lots of DVD's also.
Have I forgoten anything, or are any other parts recommended (eg cheaper... this is really more than I was planning to spend..

hmm. AMD.. but go 3200+ if u can
2GB of Kingston is overkill, 1gb is more than enuf
hmm, SLI 6600's will be good.. but again prolly overkill for the time.. id say just buy one for now and later on if u need it buy a 2nd one, keep the SLI mobo

If your into DVD Decoding, you will really benefit from a larger capacity hard drive, so I'd look into a bigger drive.

Also, look into Dual Layer DVD burners, they have really gone downin pricing.

The 2 GB for $200 is a real good deal so I'd take advantage.
