Ok my heatsink (fanless) has lots of dust in it and I was wondering can I just put it inthe dishes and make sure it is rinsed and dried? also it has grese on the bottom and since I didn't build this computer Is that thermal grease and would I have to keep it on there?

No the soap and other chemicals in the dishwasher will probably cause problems when you reattach it. I wouldn't recommend it.
Like everyone else says clean it off with 90% isopropyl alcohol.
But don't take it off unless you plan on applying some fresh thermal grease. You can't just clean off the grease and stick it back on there. If you are going to replace the grease I suggest AS5.
