my graphics card is a gtx 460 geforce and it has a mini hdmi my tv has regular hdmi is it worth it to go from mini hdmi to reguard and wheres a good place to buy one compared to just staying with vga

It depends on your TV. Some TV's stretch the HDMI input which distorts the picture and actually look much better with VGA. Other TV's do not do this and you will get a better picture with HDMI. If your TV is 720p it probably will stretch the input, 1080p TV's are often a little better about this.

Can you give the exact manufacturer and model of your GTX460?

You mean display port? Get a HDMI to Display Port adapter.
I'm guessing he did mean mini-HDMI, rather than DisplayPort. Either way is possible though.
